Accurate anatomy...as much as I can say for how much I know of cats! The tail is definitely a good length, and her eyes are soft yet a teeny bit evil at the same time. I like the usage of short hair, too. Gewd jawb, Jared. :>
You make it sound like a formal career change, like everything up until this point was swept away in a flurry of paw swipes. I’m an artist with no formal training, who has a working background in manga style art. I’m currently drawing anthropomorphic furry characters for a job, and having a great time doing it. I don’t really think of myself as a “furry artist” because I’ve never held any high ambition to draw furries. Likewise I never considered myself a “kid’s fiction artist/writer” because I’ve never held any desire work in the field, but that’s arguably what I was doing for the last four years with Peach Fuzz. Labels are tricky aren’t they?
I see in this one you have hands instead of paws. I've always liked drawing furs with hands rather than paws... It just looks wrong to me, like if I were going to draw that, I might as well draw it as a regular animal. And your coloring rocks<3
It's the Cadillac of graphic's tablets, the Wacom Cintiq. But you already knew that.
I believe Wacom's marketing says the Cintiq's surface "feels more like paper". I'd say "feels like rubbing China markers across wax paper" is a more accurate description. Drawing on a Cintiq is like drawing on glass, but it's still the best graphic input device ever made, and the best piece of hardware I've ever used, so I'm not complaining. But no, it's nothing like drawing on paper. Not yet at least. Hopefully the next revision.
I think you may have misread my title. It's my life drawing furry, not my life as a furry. Plus, I'm a dude, dude. While we all can wish we were has hot as the family cat (and that's my secret wish, of course) I think society may have trouble accepting people with big feline heads.
We humans fought a war against such creatures in the Wing Commander franchise. I believe the cat people were called the Kilrathi (which I just realized is a terrifying amalgam of the words "Kill" and "Rath"... Clever!). I'm no Kilrathi!
