A finalist in Kodanshas 2nd Morning Magazine International Manga Contest (M.I.M.C.), Last Dance is a short gothic romance story about love, loss, and learning to let go. Set in a dreamlike Victorian fantasy world, it follows the love-smitten Dimitri, as he pays an unscheduled social call to a woman who has been forced to sever ties with him.
I only faved this page but I loved the entire thing. It's a bummer that you guys didn't win but this was a great short story and I hope you guys can work out the rest of the manga this is a back story for and get it published. I'd love to read it.
The one thing that really made me happy was that the style still had the unique aspects that make it recognizably yours but you still teaked it to fit the story, tone, setting, ect. very well. I also really like how you used minimal toning compared to the toning in Peach Fuzz (not that there's anything wrong with the Peach Fuzz toning)
I'm working on the pitch for Shadow Walk, a dark adventure story which picks up in the aftermath of some of these events. We'll see if anybody bites at the opportunity to publishing it.
lol Sarcasm just kind of flows from me. But I'm serious, are the results in or do you just know that you are a finalist? I've always enjoyed you and Lindsay's artwork since the early days of cutepet.org and I hope you come in 1st if not, at least the top 3. The Kodansha award is a really big thing and even to be considered as a finalist shows how good you are.
