It's a bummer that you guys didn't win but this was a great short story and I hope you guys can work out the rest of the manga this is a back story for and get it published. I'd love to read it.
The one thing that really made me happy was that the style still had the unique aspects that make it recognizably yours but you still teaked it to fit the story, tone, setting, ect. very well. I also really like how you used minimal toning compared to the toning in Peach Fuzz (not that there's anything wrong with the Peach Fuzz toning)
