Otaku Contemporary Ep. 5B by Quasimanga Otaku Contemporary Ep. 5B by Quasimanga
First, some background information. Lindsay and I had finished up our work for the day and were sitting around watching random anime downloads when we came across the Ken Akamatsu anime, Always My Santa. We're both familiar with Ken's work, so we thought we knew what to expect. And it was everything we expected, but somehow far worse.

I can't even remember the last time I actually got angry at a cartoon. I paused to the AVI, turned to Lindsay, and expressed my profound dejection and disappointment with the handling of the material. It was the most awful Christmas special in the history of Christmas specials. The man figured out how to ruin everything I cherished about Christmas. And when a Jew is angry with you for destroying the spirit of Christmas, well buddy, you're really fucking things up!

That's when I asked Lindsay, "What would be the most inappropriate subject for Ken Akamatsu to turn into one of his harem shows?" After some discussion we agreed an Akamatsu directed Holocaust harem show would be by far the most inappropriate and offensive anime or manga ever produced.

And, as strange as it is, that is what motivated me to devote myself to creating the Otaku Contemporary strips. Concentrated Love or A New Direction was the first strip I created, but I wanted to hold off posting it until people had a better idea of what to expect from the strips. Now you can read it in all of its glory.

Do you have a completely awful idea for a Ken Akamatsu show? If you do, please leave a comment below.

Sadly, I can't recognize artist names with other artist names... Only through artwork.

But wow, sounds like you were... uhm, really pissed off.

Should I even bother looking up what you two were watching?

Itsudatte My Santa's mangaka's previous works include Love Hina and A.I. Love You. I happen to agree with the artist, enough's enough. Most other manga artists either have just one or two series or have several different kinds of series, but Akamatsu just makes slapstick harem after slapstick harem; it gets boring or annoying after a while. Plus, he really did ruin Christmas with this one.

Oh! Those ones! I read them! Now I know.

Should I bother Youtubeing it to know and recognize it in the future?

Most people would find this distasteful... so I love it. XD

One of the great challenges of art is to avoid becoming complacent; ideas like this help to shake things up a bit. And besides, its all in good humor. =)

Well, I read Akamatsu (rather I read Magi's artwork [link] I swear that Akamatsu's art work would have never flourished as it has today if it hadn't been for Magi's assistance), and really, his older stuff is just bad sometimes.

I liked AI, but I loved Love Hina, and finally Negima was a bit of a shock at first (20 something students?), but the non-romance story line actually helped it along once he started writing about a plot that isn't about a boy meeting a girl and having sexually charged tensions that last for X volumes. Meh.

Holy crap is that some awesome cakes bad taste. XDDDD I would actually love seeing this as a manga, mostly so I could laugh at it all day.

You win the award for most politically incorrect cartoon ever. Congratulations. X3

(BTW, I can NOT stop laughing at your last sentance in the second paragraph. That would have won me over if nothing else. )

Indeed...quite wrong, and yet that's what makes it a good rip on Akamatsu (as much as I like some of his other work, I dread what we'd find in the Always My Santa anime).

As for other horrible ideas...maybe Akamatsu's take on Lovecraft? ^^;;;;

That's a great idea! I want to see an elder god in Akamatsu's style. :lmao:
