Otaku Contemporary Ep. 7 by Quasimanga Otaku Contemporary Ep. 7 by Quasimanga
DISCLAIMER
No children (real or fictional) were harmed in the making of this strip.

On the subject of Lolita...

If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and purchase, Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov off of Audible. It's probably the most beautifully written prose I've ever come across. Aside from that, Jeremy Irons’s first-person narration is transcendent. It's like Humbert himself is sitting in the room with you confessing his crimes.

I was just saying on WCN, they should name a convention after the star of Tetsujin 28-go.

interesting, another "liker" of Nabokov, or Lolita. Nabokov is my favourite writer, and <Lolita> is my favourite book. This morning I re-read it for the 4th or 5th time. Now I am writing a book.:)

The scary thing is, I can see a big media outlet screwing up and doing this for real. And yet, that's also the funny thing! :bounce:

What a good time to drop in a bit on Lolita....

I sorta saw that "Lolicon" coming XD What scares me is that some people truely get that reference pass right over their heads.

Orz||| (<-- This mean my hand and knee on the floor. with ||| strip line in the BG.)

Salute you, you're creating the pandemonium business icon we want to see.
Oh yes, if this doesn't getting hold down by authority, politicians and angry parents, I want to join the convention too. XD

I love how you plan the panels, for a one page - that need to hold so much speechs bubble and carefully let the readers and viewers easily to notice so much in one tiny panel, you have doen a great jobs translating all this in tight space. Kudos to u

Wow. Remind me not to read any comics with lots of big words first thing in the morning before I've had my caffine. I didn't get the joke when I first read it this morning... ^^; Wasn't until I had my tea-break at work later and thought about it when I got it. XD;

This totally sounds like something that could really happen too. :XD:

lol that's a hard feat! And what do you mean anyways? Since when do they not like you? I can understand their whole "not american, not 'real' manga" but hell, you guys are 10000x better than megajokio and have a real manga with tokyopop. But it's all up to preference :[

But I'm not really sure what you mean or if I totally went with a different thing there?

>But I'm not really sure what you mean or if I totally went with a different thing there?

We are on the same wavelength.

>Since when do they not like you?

I think I pissed some of them off a couple of years ago when I had the AUDACITY to request they remove images ripped from the Cutepet.org Fantasy Medley image CD off the boards. Ever since, some bitter little shits that post there have held a grudge.

Personally, I've got nothing against 4chan. I've discovered a lot of great stuff from browsing over the boards, and the people who post there probably have more in common with me than I like to admit. I don't even mind if they post the occasional picture of mine from time to time. It becomes a problem when the users steal my not-free-to-the-public work, and then have the gall to turn around and ass rape me with spiteful commentary. I mean really, that's not sportsmen like at all.

...ahhh. It feels good to get that off my chest.

>megajokio

Is that what the kids are callin' it nowadays? I've read some of it and don't care for it, but good for Fred. People don't tend to hate media with such malice unless the product is successful. If people hate his comic that much, odds are it's an astronomical success.

Yeah it's pretty successful, I just don't care for webcomics. I doubt anyone on 4chan now even knows about cutepet to tell you the truth. So many newfags.

I laughed a little harder than usual at the punchline. I made almost the exact same joke a few years ago with some friends. Good to see someone else found it funny as well!

Oh boy... Jared... that brings many disturbing thoughts to mind, but at the same time I cannot help but laugh. Maybe they should have run a quick web search on the word first...

Thanks for the compliments. Man, you're really into my line art. That's your second post about it.
You should read the digital inking tutorial I did for Corel Painter a while back.
Here's the link.

You may also want to check out my book, Digital Manga Workshop. There's plenty of good information in the book about inking and line work.
